A MUSICAL RICH
IN SYNTH POP
AND BUFF BODIES

Set in Manhattan during the Wall Street boom of the late 1980s, American Psycho tells the story of Patrick Bateman, a wealthy young investment banker who is also a serial killer.

Based on the controversial 1991 novel by Bret Easton Ellis, which also inspired the 2000 film staring Christian Bale, the show features music and lyrics by Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening) and a book by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

The show premiered at the Almeida Theatre in London on December 12, 2013 under the direction of Almeida Artistic Director Rupert Goold. The show premiered on Broadway at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on April 21, 2016, also directed by Goold.
